Location: Salzburg, Austria
Purpose: Environmental technical supervision for the Salzburg Trade Fair buildings constructed over a former landfill.
Challenges: Preventing underground gas migration; periodic monitoring of soil-gas and groundwater.
Services Provided:
Planning and supervising the installation of degassing systems (HDPE liners, gas drainage).
Conducting risk assessments.
Performing recurring controls and monitoring (sampling, analysis).
Parameters Monitored:
Soil-Gas: Methane, CO2, H2S, O2.
Groundwater: Heavy metals, COD, HC, BETX, AOX.

Project Summary: Land Recycling of Military Site in Lower Saxony
Location: Lower Saxony, Germany
Project Goal: Repurposing of a former military casern site.
Activities:
Analysis of building pollutants and waste disposal for future occupants.
Systematic inspection of service halls, garages, office, and accommodation buildings.
Evaluation, sampling, and quantification of materials for classification and pooling into analog groups.
Development of environmental and procedural concepts for cost-effective, regulated deconstruction.
Soil investigations to evaluate potential underground pollution from former military use and contaminated fill.
Pile core drilling and analytical verification of soil samples.
Outcome:
Creation of tender documents, cost calculations, and waste disposal logistics.
Comprehensive planning for deconstruction, waste management, and new construction phases.

Project Summary: Oil and Groundwater Contamination Remediation
location:Austria Europe
Issue: Leakage of 20,000–30,000 L of transformer oil contaminating approx. 10,000 m² (4,000 m² of soil, 500 m² / 2000 m³ in the unsaturated zone).
Key Activities:
Multiphase investigation (percussion drilling, groundwater monitoring wells).
Determination of current and historical groundwater currents.
Preparation and implementation of a remediation plan.
Remediation Approach:
Hydraulic In Situ-remediation:
Soil washing in the unsaturated zone using 55 infiltration pipes, clean groundwater, warm water (solar-heated), and H₂O₂.
Pump & Treat: 3 groundwater remediation wells with oil phase removal in 3 wells and 3 stand pipes.
Remediation container with gravel and activated-carbon filters.
Water leaching via drainage shaft.
Oil Recovery: Approx. 12,000 L of transformer oil recovered.
Remediation Duration:
Initial investigations (2002–2004).
Remediation equipment installed (July–Nov. 2007).
Operation ongoing since Nov. 2007; remediation expected to last 5 years.
Services Provided:
Percussion drilling, groundwater monitoring, hydraulic soil washing,
Pump & Treat, remediation container installation.
